Supervision for school staff: Services

Supporting the Mental Health of your staff

What is Supervision?

Supervision is a form of mentoring for staff who deal with high emotional content or challenging work as part of their role. It ensures the supervisee is addressing their own needs whilst effectively supporting pupils. It can also ensure ethical standards are maintained.

How do you deliver Supervision?

I can offer either individual sessions, group supervision or drop-in sessions. Depending on duration, you can have a mix of all three depending on what suits you and your staff.

Do you offer ad-hoc sessions?

Unfortunately there are times when a crisis occurs. If you need to add another layer of support for your staff, I can support with this.

How can I ensure staff and pupils are safeguarded within Supervision?

Whilst supervision sessions are confidential, it may be necessary to break confidentiality if the supervisee or someone else is at risk of harm. In this instance I would follow the schools own safeguarding and whistleblowing policies.
All parties sign a contract at the start of the supervision process outlining responsibilities.

I still don't know if this is the correct form of support for my staff

I would be happy to discuss any queries you have around all aspects of supervision. My role is to compliment your existing avenues of support which is different for every school and organisation.
